It’s a well-known fact that Shri. Ashok Kheny has great love for dogs and used to take orphaned dogs treated them and further they became the part of his family. Later when he visited the Bannerghetta national park with his family, he adopted a Tiger cubs and an Elephant calf and named it after his twin sons, viz., Nicky Kheny and Bobby Kheny.

Shri. Ashok Kheny has a good sense of humour. He believed that cartoons are the abstract reflections of society in a lighter vein. In order to encourage and recognize talents in the field of cartooning, reward the young and budding cartoonists, showcase and preserve their art for future generations and to popularize the art among the masses- for the first time in the country he established the Indian Institute of Cartoonists is an organization at Bangalore.
